What this policy covers

This policy explains how information is handled when you visit whisperingwindstherapy.com, use its blog features, or contact Whispering Winds Therapy through the contact options provided on the website.

Your privacy in therapy is addressed separately in our Notice of Privacy Practices. This website policy does not replace that notice or change your rights concerning health information.

Information you choose to provide

If you call, text, or email the practice, we receive the information you choose to share, such as your name, contact details, appointment interests, availability, and message. Clicking an email or text button opens your email or messaging service; it does not submit a Wix contact form.

If you use a member account to comment on the blog, Wix may collect account and profile information, and your comment and displayed profile information may be visible to other visitors. Please do not include personal health information or information about another person in a public comment.

The website's contact page currently does not collect therapy intake information through a web form. Client intake, clinical communications, and records are handled through the practice's designated clinical systems and processes.

Information collected during a visit

Wix hosts this website and provides its security, functionality, and analytics services. These services may process technical and usage information, including an IP address, browser and device information, approximate location derived from an IP address, pages visited, referral information, visit dates and times, and interactions with website features. Cookies and similar technologies may help operate the website, remember settings, protect it, and measure activity.

Optional tracking tools

Google Tag/Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, and the custom phone-link lead-tracking script are disabled on this website. The practice does not currently use those tools to track new website visits or phone-button clicks. Disabling them does not delete information that those providers may have received previously or remove cookies already stored in your browser.

Wix hosting, security, site functionality, and native analytics may still process technical and usage information as described above. Disabling the optional tools does not mean the website collects no information.

Google Search Console is used to manage the website's visibility in search results. It is separate from the disabled visitor analytics and advertising tags.

How information is used

We use information you provide to respond to inquiries, discuss availability, coordinate next steps, and administer website features you choose to use. Website technical and usage information supports operation, security, troubleshooting, and understanding how visitors use the website.

Contacting the practice or browsing the website does not establish a therapist-client relationship.

Service providers and other disclosures

Information may be processed by Wix and the providers that support website hosting, analytics, email, telephone, messaging, and other features you use. Those providers may process information in the United States or other countries where they operate.

Information may also be disclosed when required by applicable law or as necessary to address security incidents or protect legal rights. Disclosures involving health information are governed by the applicable clinical privacy requirements and our Notice of Privacy Practices.

Your choices and privacy requests

The website uses Usercentrics for Wix to present cookie preferences and remember your choices. You can choose Deny, Accept All, or select individual optional categories and Save Settings. Essential components remain enabled for basic functions. Use the fingerprint-shaped Privacy Settings button to reopen the controls and change your choices.

You can choose not to comment on the blog or contact the practice through the website's contact options. Browser settings may allow you to block or delete cookies, although doing so can affect website features. Blocking cookies does not necessarily prevent every type of technical data collection or tracking.

For questions about information held by Whispering Winds Therapy, or to request access, correction, or deletion where applicable, contact info@whisperingwindstherapy.com or (509) 386-2888. We may need to verify your identity before responding. Some information may need to be retained for legal, clinical, security, or other legitimate requirements; clinical record requests are addressed under the Notice of Privacy Practices and applicable law.

Retention and security

Information is retained according to its purpose, applicable recordkeeping obligations, and the retention practices of the services involved. Website account data, analytics information, inquiry communications, and clinical records may have different retention periods. Contact the practice if you have a question about a particular record.

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information and systems involved. No website or ordinary email or text communication can be guaranteed completely secure. Please avoid sending sensitive health or clinical details in an initial text, standard email, or blog comment. Use the practice's designated clinical communication methods when instructed.

External services and links

The Client Portal button links to TherapyPortal, a separate service. Other external links and social sharing buttons may take you to services with their own privacy practices. Review the relevant provider's policy before submitting information through that service.

Children and families

Although the practice provides therapy to children, this public website and its blog account features are intended for adults, including parents and caregivers, rather than for children under 13 to submit personal information independently. Parents and caregivers should contact the practice directly about services for a child. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through a website feature without appropriate permission, please contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as website features, service providers, or information practices change. The current version and its effective date will be posted on this page.
